LOCATION / HABITAT: The bearded dragon is native to the semiarid woodland, arid woodland, and rocky desert regions of Central Australia.

BREEDING: Inland bearded dragons reach sexual maturity at 1 to 2 years of age. Females dig burrows and lay up to 24 eggs per clutch, with up to 9 clutches per year. They are bred in captivity to produce stunning color variations that fetch high prices.

BEHAVIOR: Bearded dragons have strong legs that enable them to lift their bodies completely off the ground while moving. They are skilled climbers and are often perched above the ground.
